A benefit auction and dance for fire victims at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack starts at 7 p.m. at All-American Turf Club. The New Mexico Horseman's Association and Ruidoso Sunland Inc co sponsor with Clay Mac as auctioneer and his band performing. Six horses perished in the Aug. 9 fire, one horse Too Tall Jones survived but injured, and trainers lost tack and equipment in the blaze. Admission is free for donors, otherwise tickets are five dollars at the door.
