Eighty seven Cattle Cars Move From Spur to Colorado

Bloom Cattle Company ships eighty seven cars of cattle from Washington's Spur to Trinidad Colorado for feeding on the company ranch. About twenty cars had been sent earlier in the week and more shipments are planned tonight and tomorrow. Each car averages about 44 cattle, at a value of $20 per head totaling around $78,000. The herd is reported in excellent condition.

St Louis reports Swiss day at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition was a success with ten thousand Swiss from Nebraska South Dakota Kansas Missouri Ohio and a large contingent from Canada present. Escaping convict drowns in Mississippi River

M. F. Bennett of Des Moines Iowa was pulled from the Mississippi River at St Louis after leaping from a work house escape bid. He swam to the riverbank but died. He had been told of a pardon hours earlier and claimed to be an insurance man with notable Des Moines connections.
