Prairie dogs in Clovis face relocation or extermination
Citizens for Prairie proposed moving prairie dogs to a BLM ACEC near Elida in Chaves County with Wildlife Biologist Dan Baggao. City officials rejected relocation, planning to declare the animals a public nuisance and require owners to remove or destroy them. Some dogs will be moved to Lorenzo Texas for quarantine and vet care ahead of a county meeting.
