Cargo backs Nixon rival Rockefeller switch at convention

New Mexico Governor David Cargo switched his bloc at the Republican National Convention from Rockefeller to Nixon claiming it protects his integrity. New Mexico cast eight votes for Nixon on the first roll call, five for Reagan and one for Rockefeller before uniting behind Nixon as the nomination appeared wrapped up.

Sihanouk refuses U S boat release amid Cambodia demands

Carco completes purchase of U S Borax assets in Carlsbad

Continal American Royalty Co. Carco finalizes acquisition of U S Borax and Chemical Corp properties in Carlsbad. About 800 employees were affected last year with 200 more expected to be hired.
