Albuquerque dispatch reports tests for water in refueling tanks will continue for days as the Bureau of Air Commerce inquiry into the Sky Chief crash near Barton progresses. Inspector Kinney said the inquiry may move to Kansas City for more data as the damaged Douglas airliner is dismantled for shipment after ten passengers were injured in the forced landing east of the city.

In San Francisco Tom Mooney the most famous prisoner sat in San Quentin as the state supreme court refused to approve a $1,000,000 bail to secure his return for depositions in a habeas corpus bid for freedom The decision followed an offer by Mooney's attorney to post the bail during his impending eastward appearance. In Washington the second deficiency appropriation bill cut 36 million dollars including a 10 000 dollar allocation for the mother of late Senator Cutting of New Mexico.
Seattle Aug 6 AP Two famed airmen Wiley Post and Will Rogers prepared to launch Post’s red monoplane toward Alaska marking the first leg toward Siberia and Moscow pending weather and pontoon tests. Rogers joined from San Francisco and planned to accompany to Juneau, not intending to cross Nome to Siberia.
Santa Fe August 6 AP Quincy D Adams assistant attorney general will file in U S district court a motion for a larger bond in the motor caravan act suit brought by M H Piper who has a temporary restraining order against the law Adams says the present bond 1500 may not cover the state if it wins the suit Piper estimated caravan traffic too low and Adams notes liability exceeds 900 dollars for the period July 13 to 29 He claimed Piper admitted moving 20 to 30 cars a month and bears penalties if he loses
John B Beers Sr suffered a broken knee cap in an auto crash on East Second Street near the Odd Fellows Home last Saturday. He veered into the ditch to avoid a collision after a car turned in front. He was taken to St Marys hospital and remains there with his right leg in a cast from ankle to hip.
