New Mexico issues groundwater discharge permit notices
The New Mexico Environment Department GWQB proposes approval for two groundwater discharge permits in Roswell. DP-281 covers up to 7.5 million gallons per day of treated domestic wastewater for crop irrigation and discharge to the Hondo and Berrendo rivers. DP-764 covers up to 80,000 gallons per day from a dairy production area with land application on up to 263 acres. Possible nitrogen compounds noted. Public comment period opens for 30 days after notice. hearings may be held if there is public interest.
