First Semiannual Meeting of Southeastern New Mexico Medical Society

No Cutting Lights Says Gillenwater Roswell

W H Gillenwater of Roswell Electric Light Company denies rumors the city will lose street lights over back bills. He explains the old $5 560 debt was assigned to Albuquerque National Bank with January and April payment promises. A January 2 500 payment reduced the balance to 3 055, but April 1 saw no full payment. The bank warned, the city paid 1 000, leaving 2 056 due. The bank may sue, the city may not. no immediate danger to lights is expected. Also noted: Miss Pohl, a popular sophomore at the college, died recently. family to arrive tonight.

Allison’s Plans for Magnificent Four Story Building

S. E. Allison left for Alpine Texas after visiting here to discuss a proposed four story reinforced concrete and steel office building at Main and Third. The plans include a 50 by 198 foot structure with glass fronts on both streets and a basement. Renters were shown the plans and could express desired quarters.

Young Lady at A. and M. College Falls into Abyss

April 17 in Las Cruces New Mexico a holiday picnic at the A. and M. College ended in tragedy when Miss Ella Pohl 19 of Belén lost balance while climbing Ash Canyon and fell into a ravine. Companion Miss Shearer returned for help as Dr. Nathan Boyd was summoned. Miss Pohl was found in a dying condition.
