Isotopes' Cardullo keeps dream alive with steady climb
Isotopes outfielder Stephen Cardullo, 28, walked on at Florida State after not earning a scholarship and was cut by the Diamondbacks in 2011. He spent years in independent leagues, mostly with Rockland in Can-Am, living modestly while chasing a Major League shot. His improved numbers, a minor league deal with Colorado in January, and focus on progress keep him in contention as he pursues affiliated play.
