The Military Institute cadets beat Hagerman 14 to 8 in a rough game at Military Heights yesterday. Tomorrow a Hagerman game will be at Amusement Park starting at 3 o'clock to avoid delays before business crowds.
Capt Julius A. Penn left this morning for Las Cruces to inspect the New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts after recently visiting the Military Institute. He assured cadets they need not fear close order drill from top U S military schools and renewed old acquaintances while in town. Easter footwear on display at The Stine Shoe Co.

Fifty additional special policemen were sworn in for strike duty as the company planned to run its cars this afternoon. Strikers and sympathizers gathered near the car barns since daybreak, with 100 officers guarding surrounding streets and restricting access. The strike-breakers are under tight union supervision.

Milwaukee April 15. Ira Smith once a prominent wholesale grocer was today sentenced to two years in the Milwaukee house of correction for obtaining money on through alleged scheme.
Governor George Curry left for Amarillo to begin a trip that will reach Washington to seek a federal building appropriation of 140 600 dollars for Roswell and address other business.
The Elks lodge held its annual installation in the Gaullor block hall last night. Major Bernard Ruppe of Albuquerque served as Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler while officers were named for elective and appointive posts including Exalted Ruler Claude Hobbs and Secretary Percy Evans.
Salt Lake reports five distinct earthquake shocks felt early this morning in Milford and Newhouse Utah. Houses were shaken and residents ran from their homes in alarm but no serious damage was reported. The tremors occurred two hundred miles south of herb.
