Six freight cars were derailed in a wreck at Portales yesterday delaying the northbound train. Three cars were badly mashed. No injuries reported. Passengers and baggage were moved to the morning train, which was reversed and returned, arriving about 90 minutes late.

Mr and Mrs C H Botkin arrived from Kiowa Kansas and will stay in Roswell for an extended visit with friends and relatives during the coming weeks.
