Mr and Mrs Emerson Strong and family left Sunday for Woodlands Man where they rented a farm. In Rossburn friends presented a farewell purse and the Canadian Order of Foresters a gift of an electric coffee pot and stand during a social in their honor. Best wishes for health and happiness in the new home were extended.

Hospital Aid Sets Regular Meeting and Planned Shower
The Hospital Aid met in the Clubroom last Monday with thirteen members present. They plan to buy sheets plates knives forks spoons bed spreads facecloths a dresser and a wardrobe. The annual Hospital Aid Shower and Tea will be held in the Clubroom on Saturday evening October 24. Donations sought include fowl meat eggs preserves canned vegetables soup bath towels linens cups and saucers fresh vegetables.
Harvesting Hopes Rise Amid Dry Favorable Days
Farmers report several good harvesting days over the last three to four weeks in the locality. They fear rain will ruin grain as it dries, hoping dry weather returns to complete the harvest quickly if fields can be covered during wet spells.
Ukrainian Home hall moved to Rossburn Omaha area?
A committee calling itself Ukrainian People's Home of Rossburn moved Pete's Lake Hall to a Second Street lot opposite C N Locke. The 30 by 60 foot hall faced delays as a contractor quit, roof removal occurred, Wv C Minty supervised the final move, a basement wall caved in then was repaired, and more repairs and a roof replacement are planned.

Armstrong Brother Born in 1880 Claims First White Child
Mr Wm Armstrong told the Review his brother Hugh Armstrong was born July 16 1880 and may have been the district s first white baby. Hugh Armstrong died in 1910 and the Armstrongs owned land along the Rossburn Shoal Lake border with their first house in Rossburn.

August Accidents Decrease from 1952 to 1953
August totals show a drop in fatalities across industrial, home, and general categories. In August 1953 there were 25 fatalities versus 40 in August 1952, with 198 killed and 2385 injured from January to August 31, 1953. Most industrial deaths occurred in metal and machine works. home and general fatalities include several falls and drownings.

Rossburn and district will gain a daily bus link to Brandon soon per Manitoba Motor Transit drivers. No official start date yet but service expected within days. Buses from Brandon arrive about 9 p.m. daily except Sunday and depart about 7 a.m. Sundays differ. Service previously ran Brandon Shoal Lake and Brandon Oakburn. extension follows councils’ requests.
