4 H Club News Garden Club Achievement Day
The Oakburn 4H Garden Club held Achievement Day on September 6th despite rain. Members displayed vegetables earning many red ribbons with Kenneth Shwaluk champion and Cynthia Leganchuk reserve. The program included reports and piano, with year certificates and gold seals awarded.

How to Dry Flowers and Reeds for Bouquets
Tips on selecting peak blossoms leaves and cat tails and multiple drying methods. Flowers can be preserved with borax or fine sand while reeds dry in a glyceryne solution and leaves absorb color in warm water with food coloring. Color can be added by spray paints and lacquer or hair spray protects seed heads.
