Women Break Male Domain in Manitoba Civil Service
A department by department survey shows Manitoba provincial civil service jobs once reserved for men are increasingly filled by women. Labor Minister Ken MacMaster cites 158 of 367 staff in his department as women and notes women occupy roles from inspectors and safety officers to accountants and planning analysts. The trend spans Finance, Health, Community Services, Economic Development, and more, with 59 percent of 129 regular positions held by women.
