Farewell Held For Mr and Mrs Danyleyko

A farewell gathering in Rossburn at the Ukrainian National Home honored Mr and Mrs Danyleyko prior to their move to Neepawa. Out of town guests included Dr and Mrs Wes Danyleyko and Mrs Johnson of Angusville. Gifts were presented by several locals, with a lunch served and songs ending the event.

Joy Dorren and Gerald Dawson wed at Foxwarren United Church

Joy Dorren Young and Gerald Edward Dawson were married Saturday at Foxwarren United Church by Rev. Dr. Parker. The bride wore a lace gown with seed pearl trim, held a sweetheart roses bouquet, and was attended by her sister Shirley Young. Best man Harold Brown and ushers Bob Young and Larry Grieve assisted as 75 guests attended a reception, after which the couple departed for a U and A trip and will reside in Shoal Lake Geneal.

Hospital Aid Meet Seeks Food Donations and Supplies

The Hospital Aid meeting was held on the last Monday in August to organize dish sets for staff and patients, draw sheeting for wheelchairs, and solicit volunteers to prepare peach spears or grapes for the hospital by contacting Mrs. Bert Mitchell.

Shower honors bride elect in Ukrainian parish hall

A Friday September 9 bridal shower for Sonja Hullick, bride elect for September 16, took place in the Ukrainian Parish Hall. Lydia Luhowy escorted the guest to a decorated chair while her mother and grandmother, Mrs. Lucy Yaskin, received corsages. Nadya Nahirniak read the address as gifts were opened, followed by a luncheon for about seventy five ladies hosted by Millicent Sawchuk, Jean Perchaluk, Nellie Lazaruk, Angela Ryzytylo, Nancy Yaskiew, Phyllis Chopp, Lydia Luhowy, and Nadya Nahirniak.

195 Enrolled as Rossburn School Tea Opens Semester

Rossburn School opened August 29 with 195 enrollments. Mrs. L Veitch teaches grades seven and eight, two new assistants joined high school Miss Patricia Findlay and Mr Jerry Rogan. Twelve beginners listed, and Lucille Stitt’s upcoming wedding to Howard Cornwall noted at a social tea. Scholarships funded by community groups, total bank balance $212.49 as September 12. Adeline Hrankowski wins the year’s Rossburn School Scholarship.

Record Cucumber Cucumbers and a 31 inch giant

Luba Family Reunion Held in Angusville

On Sunday September 4 the Luba family gathered at Mr and Mrs Mike Luba's home with most relatives present. Helen Luba was away nursing at University Hospital Edmonton. Rev and Mrs Russell Reid and Gladys of Toulon visited Angusville area relatives including the Bells. Cameron Reid teaches at Belmont this year. Marlene Senko stays with grandmother Mrs Keller and attends grade twelve. Elizabeth Gensorick and Bert visit relatives of the Gensorick family. 14 lb Jack Caught In Birdtail Monday

Monday evening at Birdtail south of Maxwell's on the Matt Olynyk property, John Maydanuk with Steve Maydanuk's help landed a 14 lb 1 oz jack. The fish measured 39 inches long, a notable catch in the area.
