LINK Hardware Company Ltd celebrates 25 years serving Western Canada with nearly 400 dealers across four provinces plus Yukon and Northwest Territories. The Edmonton head office since 1970 and a 160000 square foot wholesale centre support 13000 items. The 1980 Fall Market in Edmonton September 7 to 9 showcased new products and inventory for upcoming seasons, with a Spring Show last April guiding winter goods and toys orders.
Rossburn Elementary School began the 1980 81 fall term on September 2 with an enrolment of 332, similar to last year. The staff includes Principal Dan Shtykalo and many teachers across grades from Kindergarten to VIII, with support staff and coordinators listed.
The Rossburn Roman Catholic Farms Cemetery Committee lists donations from residents of Rossburn Brandon Shoal Lake Birtle and others to fund a cairn and cemetery upkeep. Donations range from 5 to 50 dollars with receipts provided and further contributions urged to Father Rygusiak or Eugene Lepischak.
Education Minister Keith Cosens announced grants to three western Manitoba school divisions to cover special condition costs. Pelly Trail division receives 13,688 dollars to educate about 30 Fouillard settlement children at Binscarth School. A full-time resource teacher has served Fouillard students since 1965, with reimbursement from the department for materials and the teacher’s salary and benefits.
