A miscellaneous shower for Mary Mushey, bride of October, was held at Mrs. Wm. Mushey’s home on Wednesday October 22nd. Guests included 28 ladies and out of town relatives Mr. and Mrs. Harold Davidson of Russell. The event featured a decorated chair arrival, corsage, a balloon bursting with confetti, and a playful bridal-groom and bride duo presenting gifts. A lunch followed hosted by three women including Mrs. Mushey and Helen Mushey. Mary spoke briefly thanking guests.

Fire Debris Cleared Modern Buildings To Be Erected
Lazaruk Brothers start work on a new cafe in Rossburn replacing a fire damaged building from October 3. The basement is excavated, building dimensions include 30 by 60 feet with a 15 by 20 feet back addition, using cinder blocks and modern construction. Anton Varmey plans a basementless store 30 by 58 feet next spring, also with cinder blocks. The Manitoba Dairy and Poultry Co operative will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday November 5 to discuss a new building in Rossburn.

Found nozzle inside chicken turns up after sale
A farmer lost a spraying nozzle in his hen house three months ago. A chicken later sold to Mrs. James Sherritt in Rossburn was found to have the nozzle inside its guzard when prepared for cooking, still usable.

William Edwin Bruce aged 25 son of Mr and Mrs A Bruce of Gladstone died in Korea from wounds while on active duty. He lived in Rossburn with his family for years before moving away about 12 years ago. Enlisted November 1951. He is survived by two brothers Cpl Allan Bruce RCAF Goose Bay Labrador and Harry a grainbuyer at Sperling plus four sisters Mrs Jack Mitchell B C Mrs Irwin Harrison Rossburn Mrs Adam Chaytor Angusville and Mrs Clair Angers Miami Manitoba.
