The Village of Rossburn council met October 20 1964 with Mayor Peter Wladyka and four councillors present. The session approved minutes financial report and various motions including building permit for Norman Major a $10 St John Ambulance grant and scheduling the Court of Revision for November 17 1964. By law transfer of land was read a first second and third time and finally passed.

Bridal shower honors Miss Marjorie Peil in Loreburn
A large audience gathered at the U C Parlors Loreburn Saskatchewan on August 19 to honor Miss Marjorie Peil a September bride elect with a miscellaneous shower. Guests included her mother Mrs F M Peil mother of the groom to be Mrs Stanley Bereza sister Miss Sharon Peil and grandmothers Mrs F Peil and Mrs S Padalski. The program featured readings and songs by a group of ladies. Frenda Peil and Gail Urquhart arranged as a Revel Stoke Lumber Yard office with gifts. Tea was served to about 145 guests.

Kazmier Skavinski died at 87 in the Vista district. Born in Poland, he lived in Oakburn Ham iota Decker and Dauphin areas, working as a market gardener and carpenter. Survived by sons John Stanley Clarence Nick Ivan and eight daughters, 46 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild. Funeral Oct 8 at Shoal Lake Roman Catholic Church with interment at Ukr. Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers listed.

Rossburn voters go to the polls on October 28 to choose four school trustees for the Rossburn Consolidated School District. Five candidates contest the race Eugene Caldwell George Lawless Lorne McMillan Orest Smyrnik and Earle Taylor. All district electors may vote. Also Sandy Lake electors vote on a Sewer and Water referendum on October 28.

Banded Ducks and Attribution to Mr. Peter K. Maduke
Mr. Peter K. Maduke shot a banded duck on October 12 with Band No. 66648179. The Wildlife Centre in Maryland, USA, supplied information that the duck he found on November 20, 1963, had been handed over August 6, 1956 at Eatonia Saskatchewan, seven years earlier.

25th Wedding Anniversary for Pidlubny Couple
Mr and Mrs William Pidlubny of Fernwood formerly of Birdtail celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a dinner and dance at Osborne Hall. A 1926 Model T Ford started the evening, arranged by Miss Linda Pidlubny and Mrs Anne Oryniak. Over 40 guests attended including visitors from Toronto Chicago Vita Rossburn and Vita with several Pidlubny and Oryniak relatives.
