Kressburn Village Council Meeting Minutes Oct 18 1960
The Village of Rossburn council met in the council chambers on October 18 with Mayor J G Stitt and councillors Wladyka Werbowski Aylwin Antoniw present. Minutes and financial report for September were adopted and fee amendments for a traveling salesman license were approved. A grant of 10 dollars to St John Ambulance and a building permit for Joseph Nikolas were authorized along with payment of last month's bills totaling 4010.55.

Rossburn High hosts Angusville in 20–6 football win
The Rossburn High School football team defeated Angusville 20 to 6 at the Rossburn school grounds with Ernest Baydock opening the scoring from the 50 yard line and Mel Kaban breaking through from 35 yards. Arverts and Peter Derkatch scored Angusville’s late touchdown.

Funeral Rites for Adam Luhowy at Ukrainian Church
Oakburn mourns Adam Luhowy who died October 3 after a short illness. Born 1902 north of Oakburn he married Mary Yarish in 1931 and farmed near town. Funeral services were held at the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church with burial in the local cemetery. Pallbearers and many out of town mourners attended.

Oakburn Ukrainian Women's Assn Meeting Details
The Ukrainian Women's Assn of Oakburn held its monthly meeting at the Ukr Ukrainian National Home on Sept 29 with 20 of 34 members present and 6 guests. President Mrs John Hrytsak led the session and prayers as minutes were read in for the secretary and adopted. The group discussed Ukrainian teaching to be revisited at the Nat Home annual meeting. Proceeds from the Oct 2 church service and tea will support Ukrainian language teaching. A teachers convention luncheon Oct 6 and a Fowl Supper Oct 13 were planned. The annual meeting is set for Nov 3 and adjournment followed a lunch.
