Pelly Trail Board Reviews Grants and Student Trips
The Pelly Trail School Division Board met on October 2 and approved in principle two student trips. Binsearth Grade IX may travel to Churchill at end of October, while Major Pratt School’s Grade XII English and French classes seek a London Paris tour in March 1976. Funding will be raised by students, enrolment sits at 1973, down 134 from last year. The board urged a Manitoba Association of School Trustees grant formula based on June 30 enrolment figures and discussed upcoming conferences. A public hearing on Lizard Point Reserve’s ward status is set for October 20. Ukrainian language option in Elphinstone Grades 7–9 was approved despite opposition. Bucklaschuk Named Special Assistant to Attorney General
John Bucklaschuk has been appointed as a Special assistant to the Attorney General H. R. Pawley. The executive assistant will handle inquiries for the Pawley cabinet and the Minister of Municipal Affairs and serve Selkirk Constituency. He previously taught at Killarney Collegiate and is from Rossburn, son of Mr and Mrs Mike Bucklaschuk.

Rossburn Venturer Company Adds Members and Plans Ventures
In 1969 four members formed the Rossburn Venturer Company, now 19 boys strong. Venturing, part of Canada’s Boy Scouts for ages 14 to 18, aims to build leadership and voice. Meetings are Mondays at 7:00 p.m. in Rossburn Elementary, with vigorous recreation followed by a formal vote on items like activities and fundraising. The 1975 76 executive includes Pres Blaine Veitch and Advisor Rick Plaister. The group invites community support for upcoming events including a Work Day on Oct 18 and a Toilet Bowl Flag Football game Oct 19 at 1:00 p.m. at the school grounds.

Mike Werbowski and Bever ley with LH.C. dealers from western Canada spent a week in Spain France and West Africa. Highlights include southern Spain Barcelona a bull fight camel ride Rock of Gibraltar and hydrofoil to Tangier Morocco returning by ship. 356 dealers and wives joined the IHC promotion.

Outstanding RC I Volleyball Teams Win Barley Trophies
The Russell Beef and Barley Tournament saw Rossburn win the girls title after a 3 1 finale against Hamiota while RC I boys claimed the finals 2–0 over Grandview. Rossburn and RC I earned large trophies and medals, with next action set for October 16 in Russell and November 1 in Grandview.
