Stitt a daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. Willis Stitt of Vista on Oct. 8. Chuckrey a son born to Mr. and Mrs. Pete Chuckrey of Angusville on Oct. 10.
Local and general notices list visits from Fort William Ontario to Victoria British Columbia and extended family travels. The Explorers Group plans a cookie sale Friday October 16 from 4 to 6 PM. A birth is recorded Joseph Vernon Pynn born to G N R and Mrs J C Pynn of Germany with Shirley Hamilton of Rossburn. Mr R J Brown celebrates his 86th birthday October 16 with wishes from Rossburn Hospital. Harold Slow of Yorkton Saskatchewan spent Thanksgiving weekend with his parents.
The Rossburn Credit Union Society held a board meeting on Monday October 12 with all members present. Auditors reported the credit union in favorable condition and two new members approved. The Credit Committee approved eight loans totaling $1945 and one extension. The Supervisory Committee found books in order and continued auditing passbooks. Next meeting set for November 10, 1959.
The W A and W M S held their monthly meeting with 23 members present on a Tuesday in October. They donated $10 to the Osborne Home, agreed to contribute $10 toward a bursary, and planned catering for the Legion Banquet on November 1. A Fall Bazaar date was set for November 28.
Theresa Nola Glushka and Adolph Verbowski wed October 3, 1959 at 3 o'clock in Rossburn Ukrainian Catholic Church in a double ring ceremony officiated by Rev. Father John Lehky. Attendants wore apple green and lime outfits, bouquets featured white mums, and dinner followed at the Ukrainian National Hall with a closing prayer.
Voters in RossburnVillage will elect a mayor with incumbent Earl Moffat facing former mayor J G Stitt. Councillors Aylwin and Wladyka win two year terms by acclamation. Reeve Ed Shust to be replaced by Mike Sotas. Ward One and Ward Three, Councillors Brown and Pawluk also acclaimed. School board trustees Norman Major and Mike Smycniuk re-elected by acclamation.
Alexander McTavish aged 65 died when his car collided on the highway near Foxwarren. The Westminster United church service was led by Dr J Carlyle Parker, with burial at Shoal Lake cemetery. Pallbearers include Foster Smith and Clarence McLean. survivors include widow and three daughters. One sister, Vera, died in California.
A parish hall shower for Anne Berehulka bride elect of Oct 22 was held with 80 ladies signing the guest book. Evangeline Strileski and Shirley Lepischak greeted the honoree, as Corsages were pinned and gifts opened amid songs and a lunch.
Nomination Day in the R. M. of Silver Creek produces a Reeves race between Marion Siwak and Mervyn Coulter. Ward Four features John Katchin versus Stanley Duffet. Ward Three athlete Joe Semochko and Ward Five Alex Kalyniuk win acclamations.

The Vista 4-H Fair on Friday September 25 showcased top honors across sewing, seed plots, and livestock. Winners included Katherine Armstrong in multiple sewing events, Robena Miller in needlework, Joy Brown and Ray Brown in market hogs, and several champions in breeding gilt and swine judging.
