Oakburn High School student body gathered on September 14 1959 to elect officers for grades IX to XII. Suzan Yanick David Luhowy Ernest Shwaluke and Delores Melnyk were named officers. Scholarships of 125 each were awarded to Julie Luhowy and Mervin Peniuta with Walter Yarish receiving 100.

The Rossburn Women's Institute met on October 6 with 12 members and 1 visitor. Mrs. Armstrong announced new library books, and Mrs. McKnight and Mrs. Stewart were chosen to attend the Brandon leadership school with an alternate. An Integration discussion followed led by Langridge and Lindsay. The November meeting will elect officers and feature a turkey supper.

Quiet wedding unites Stitt and McLennan families at Shoal Lake
