Rossburn Rural Council Meeting Minutes October 12 1965
The Rossburn Rural Council met in the council chambers on October 12, 1965 with Reeve Alex Cleland and five councillors present. The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed. The Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church at Sandy Lake hosted the August 7 1965 wedding of Sandra Ann Ellchuk to Dennis Michael Kawa both of Elphinstone. Rev J Melnyk officiated as family and friends gathered for the formalities with attendants and flower girls in lace gowns and blue hues.

Pelly Trail 8 D Graduation Exercises
On October 2 1965 in the Elphinstone Memorial Hall a capacity crowd attended the Pelly Trail School Division graduation. Principal E S Kilimnik welcomed attendees and list of presentations followed with numerous bursaries and scholarships awarded to top students including David Bryer Betty Stevens Lenard Mychasin and Robert Stupinsky. Dr John A B McLeish urged continued education as a stepping stone to frontiers in mental health discrimination social work outer space and education.

Retreat for United Church Women at Fort Qu’Appelle
Last week a retreat at Prairie Christian Training Centre Fort Qu Appelle Saskatchewan gathered over 80 women from Manitoba and Ontario to study church work in the world. Led by Rev. Bud Harper and deaconess Ruth Scoular the group shared beliefs and grew in faith ending with a Communion Service in the chapel reflecting old Methodist tradition.
