Arbitration Board hikes Pelly Trail teachers’ salaries 1973
The Arbitration Board met September 7 and issued a 7.71 percent salary increase for 1973. The total 1973 payroll rises to 1,113,009 with 687,058 in government grants and 425,951 to be raised locally. Local taxes fund most of the increase. fringe benefits are covered separately. The division also negotiates with CUPE for nineteen bus drivers, eleven custodians and eight auxiliary staff.

Warm weather drew hundreds to Russell Manitoba for its first Beef and Barley Festival.
