Over 7 000 Teachers to Attend Manitoba Conferences
More than seven thousand teachers will attend 17 conferences from October 18 to 20 in Winnipeg and Selkirk Manitoba. The Manitoba Teachers Society sponsors fourteen conferences with affiliated groups and assists a University of Winnipeg film event and a Transcona Springfield School Division conference on Open Strategy in the Classroom. The Society also hosts the first provincial conference for grades four to six at its St James Assiniboia headquarters.

Union Announces Contract Settlement For Rural Manitoba Clerical Staff
The union representing clerical employees of Dauphin Ochre River School Area No. 1 signed its first agreement covering July 1, 1973 to June 30, 1975. Farmers dispute price controls at Shoal Lake NFU meeting
W F U Local 525 gathered at Shoal Lake on October 10 with W Miller of the National Farmers Union criticizing the belief that supply and demand alone set prices. Speakers questioned the feed policy and the Wheat Board, while budgeters pitched a Hard Core Fund to raise five million dollars, urging ten year, interest free loans from farmers, already totaling $110,000 from 110 lenders.

Tree Harvesting In Full Swing At PFRA Tree Nursery

Roblin Clean-up Project Starts At Auto Yard
Eight men began Monday on a cleanup of Roblin's eastern highway yard. Parkland Regional Development led the effort with Roblin Auto Wrecking Ltd and the RM of Shell River, alongside Manitoba Mines Resources and Environmental Management. Over three weeks about 200 wrecked cars will be crushed and stored for transport to a recycling plant.
