Pelly Trail Teachers Association Meeting in Russell
The Pelly Trail Teachers Association convened in Russell on September 30 and October 1 with 105 teachers present including 47 new to the division. President W. A. Andrews and Secretary Mrs. E. William J Young 36 Dies in Ontario Accident
William J Young 36 of Fort Frances Ontario died after an accident on Sunday September 29. He was son of J R Young of 219 Aubrey St and brother of Robert Davidson Young of Winnipeg. Funeral held October 3 at Clark Leatherdale with Rev. Dr. Donald Bruce Macdonald officiating. He was CFOB sales manager, a pilot, Kinsmen member, and SCUBA enthusiast. Burial in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.

United Church Women Meet in church annex
The October UCW gathering met Tuesday evening in the church annex with Mrs Lorna Veitch presiding. Miss Ruby Armstrong and Mrs Gordon Taylor Keiper answered questions as Veitch shared highlights from the executive meeting in Hamiota. Reports covered committee work and pricing on carpeting and table runners. Lunch was served by several members after adjournment.
