The Rossburn Women’s Institute met in the annex on Tuesday October 1 at 3 pm presided by Mrs McKnight. Donations were made to the U C W Rossburn School Scholarship Fund and the Brandon Children’s Aid Society. Mrs Wilson Stitt reported on the Russell board meeting. Mrs Viola Stitt showed slides. lunch hostesses were Mrs Agnes Snider Mrs Wes Williamson and Mrs Jack Stitt. Mrs Cormack won the jackpot. The group discussed WI aims and the three meeting parts business education and social.

Six representatives of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of Rossburn attended the annual Regional Meeting in Roblin Manitoba on Sunday September 29. The group included vice president Mrs Ann Gurnick secretary Mrs Anne Drosdoski and members Mrs Ann Shust Mrs Mary Bidochka Mrs Anne Bonchuk and Mrs Angela Ryzytylo.
Heavy Potatoes Report Show Big Spuds In District
Farming district north of Rossburn reports continued yields with several large potatoes. John Hagie delivered four potatoes totaling 9 pounds 14 ounces, heaviest 2 pounds 14 ounces, lightest 2 pounds 4 ounces. Halliday couple unearthed a 3 pounds 5 ounces specimen while digging. A 3 and a half pound spud from Steve Yaskiw garden was brought to the office Wednesday afternoon.

New Equipment For CKX FM Western Manitoba Broadcasters
