Flu shot urged for high risk as flu season nears
Manitoba Lung Association urges high risk individuals to receive annual flu vaccination. Experts say yearly shots prevent flu in about 75 percent of recipients and may reduce severity in others. High risk groups include seniors over 65 and people with chronic lung heart kidney diseases diabetes anemia or immune problems. Those allergic to eggs should not get the vaccine. Contact a physician to arrange a shot.
