Manitoba Home Care Nurses win first contract
The Manitoba Labour Board approves a first contract for 300 Home Care nurses. The union says parity with other government nurses is achieved with raises up to 17.2 percent and recognition of casual and regular status. Regular staff get a minimum three hour call out and new benefits include pensions sick leave improved vacation and bereavement leave. Paid coffee breaks and joint committees are also established.
