A formal wedding was held October 4, 1947 at the home of Mr and Mrs Alex Andrew in Ranchvale uniting their daughter Mary Agnes with Glen Cameron Smith of Brumlie. Rev M Nixon officiated as guests dined after a 34 person buffet. The couple will reside in Brumlie.

Bear marauder blamed for pig pen slaughter in Birdtail

In Birdtail, a marauder described as a bear killed a 300 pound sow during Adolph Kostesky's threshing absence. The pig pen was wrecked. three piglets survived. Neighbour armed with a 44-40 searched the area but no shots were reported. Also notes social visits and a wedding toast for Agnes Andrew and Glen Smith.

Helen Hubert daughter of Mr and Mrs Philip Hubert of Oakburn married Walter Luhowy son of Mr and Mrs Wasyl Luhowy of Oakburn on October 4 at the Greek Catholic parish hall in Oakburn. Harvest Home Attendees Recall Visit to Miniski Church

In Angusville the community gathered for a harvest home at Miniski Church on Thursday night October 2. Attendees included Mrs Sharman Mrs Radcliff and Mr Nixon of Rossburn with Mr McNield of Russell giving the guest address. Mrs Radcliff visited the city clinic during a Winnipeg trip.

Mr F W Hay principal of Vista High School spent the weekend in Winnipeg. Mr Charles Hay visited his parents Mr and Mrs R Hay on Sunday. The incident notes a Robin Hood Flour Mills Co sign being painted on the Sabbath near a general store and questions if such work is practiced.
