A Monday night bridal shower for Mildred Chegus bride elect of Oct 15 was held in Vista Hall. Her mother and future mother in law Mrs Gullets sat beside her as corsages were handed out. About 50 guests enjoyed gifts a luncheon and a well chosen thank you.

Rossburn Arena hosted more than 1600 bingo fans in a midweek event. After game 19 the main prize Ford went to Mrs. Mike Gumieny of Rossburn while 15 other prizes were awarded to players from nearby towns including Birdtail, Binscarth, Vista, Oakburn, and Vancouver. The Rossburn Memorial Recreation Association earned praise for running a well organized rink fundraiser with many volunteers.

Mrs. Mary Elvers died after a short illness at Rossburn Hospital on Monday September 26. Born in the Ukraine she came to Canada at 11. She married Allan Elvers in 1912 and lived on a Rossburn farm until 1949 retirement then moved to Rossburn. Survived by three sons Otto John Bill and three daughters Nancy Eileen Nellie. Predeceased by son James and husband Allan in 1955. Funeral at Pentecostal Church September 28 Rev Roset officiating with pallbearers Henry Miller Archie Forde Charlie Brown John York Frank Butler Douglas Andrew. Interment Rossburn Cemetery.
