Province signs new RCMP pac
Manitoba Attorney General Gerry Mercier announced a new provincial and municipal contract with the federal government for RCMP services. The 10 year deal sets cost shares rising from 56 percent in 1981-82 to 70 percent by 1990-91 for provinces and municipalities, with 81 percent for larger municipalities under review after the 1981 census. Contracts retrace to April 1, 1981, and are expected within a month.
