Mayer objects to Argu es claims on grain sales losses
MP Charlie Mayer of Portage-Marquette denounces Senator Hazen Argue for saying no sales were lost and no contracts cancelled amid the Thunder Bay grain handler strike. Mayer warns of potential revenue losses for farmers due to delayed grain sales, high interest rates, and strained transport to meet export commitments. He notes a $160 million revenue loss cited by the Wheat Board and questions Argue’s view that producers emerged winners. The column also touches on Harvest Festival parking, a past editorial, and expected heavy snowfall.
