Regret notes the death of 36 year old Sam Trakale in Winnipeg Hospital on Sunday November 25. He was an active community worker and served as Councillor in Ward 1 of Rossburn Rural Municipality. Funeral services are set for Thursday at the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Rossburn with burial in the Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.

The Village of Rossburn council met Friday November 23 in the Municipal Office with the mayor and councillors Werbowski and Aylwin present. Minutes and finances were approved. Delegations from the Rossburn Chamber of Commerce discussed street signs and uniform naming before signage erection. A plan to rename streets will be taken up with the Land Titles Office. One building permit was issued. Rink rental for 1956 57 winter season was confirmed. Correspondence from Lady Minto Nursing Home was sent to the village solicitor. Accounts were approved. Square Dancing set for Wednesday December 5 at 8 p.m. at the Ukrainian National Home. Local residents visited Brandon and Birtle. United Church W.A. bazaar netted about 73 dollars. Mission Band fish pond raised 4 dollars.
