TWOVOICE reports a son born to Mr. and Mrs. Michael Twovoice on November 19. HEINDLE notes a daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. George Heindle on November 22. TANNER records a son born to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tanner on November 24. COLLINGRIDGE lists a daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Collingridge on November 26.

Booster shots at Rossburn Town Hall December 12

Hospital notes announce booster shots at Rossburn Town Hall 2 pm with third shots prioritized and remaining doses at 3 30 pm. Residents lent beds during the epidemic are thanked and the oxygen installation sponsored by Hospital Aid is now in use. The first two weeks of the month saw occupancy exceed new capacity by over 50 percent with 19 beds.

The bride wore satin with lace and tulle and carried red carnations. bridal party wore aqua and coral gowns. The couple will reside in Brandon after a brief honeymoon in Sask and Alberta.

Gathering In Honor Of 75th Birthday Rossburn-A

Poppy Campaign totals and Legion meeting noted

Poppy Campaign raised 92.45 dollars, down ten percent from last year, while dance proceeds brought in 26 dollars. Legion members are reminded of the December 3 meeting. Mr Gordon Reynolds and boys visited the Armstrong home over the weekend. Mrs Gunn and several others accompanied Mr Gunn to Binsearth for the Wwit Rally and a showing of Pictures of Ceylon and the Holy Land.

W A Women’s Aid Holds November Meeting

The W A held its November gathering at Mrs. Wm Stitt’s home. They reported a successful bazaar and tea with good receipts despite cold weather. Donations were voted to Os borne Home Neepawa Bible Society and Church Board. Next meeting will be the Xmas gathering at Mrs Hamilton’s home on December 4 with hospital donation requests.

Harry Malaniuk reports observing eight whooping cranes on November 20 flying southeast about 200 feet high. The sighting occurred roughly 144 miles south of Mears post office, providing a rare winter migration moment.

Fire threatens Ukrainian Catholic Church on Rosa Burn

A morning blaze was detected in the coal pile behind the furnace at the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Rosa Burn. A bucket brigade and the fire department held the fire in check before smoke caused interior damage. The church was saved thanks to rapid action and water.

Village of Rossburn Council Minutes November Meeting

The Village of Rossburn council met November 12 with Mayor Earl Moffat presiding and all councillors present. Minutes and financial statements were approved. A per capita grant of 2.39 was expected. A street light on King Street Lot 12 and 13 may be added. A grant of 5 was approved to St John’s Ambulance. Bills were paid and the meeting adjourned to December 17.
