L. C. Johnston Named Fair Society President
Rossburn Agricultural Society met December 2 in the municipal office with many in attendance. Mike Antonin resigned as president and L. C. Johnston agreed to take the role with full cooperation. The society reported a cash bond clearance leaving about two hundred dollars in the till. A Calf Club was authorized for next year. Plans include coordinating a fair date with other societies and sponsoring a New Years Eve Dance.

Canadian trip yields new trucks for local visitors
Mr and Mrs Mike Werbowski returned Monday from holidays in Windsor Toronto and Niagara Falls with a new International half ton truck. Mr and Mrs Mike Deydey and Mr and Mrs Alex Barnesky visited eastern Canada and Alex drove home a new 1958 Chevrolet. Norm Clubley won a hog at a Russell dance sponsored by the Hockey Club.

Organ Fund Receives Donations for New Electric Organ

Dauphin Mourns Death of Alexander Gordon Bliss
Alexander Gordon Bliss 79 died Sunday at Dauphin Hospital after a long life begun in Harriston Ontario in 1878. He moved to Dauphin in 1895 and married Annie Boyd in 1902 who died earlier this year. Survived by three sons Frank Lorne James and two daughters Mrs Russell Hutton and Mrs Everett Crawford. Eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The W A Tea Bazaar raised about 76 dollars the W M S Bake Sale 20.50 and the Explorers candy sale 3.50.

Funeral Rites For Mrs Ethel Wight
Mrs. Ethel Wight 80, long-time Rossburn resident, died November 28 1957 in Rossburn hospital. Born in Grimsby England 1877 she immigrated to Canada aged six and lived in Winnipeg before moving to Manitoba. She married twice first to Arthur J Brown then to George Wight and had four daughters and five sons with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rev Ferguson officiated with burial in Rossburn cemetery at O Rae funeral home handling arrangements.
