Music inservices for Pelly Trail teachers in Rossburn
Teachers from the Pelly Trail School Division attended two music inservices at Rossburn Elementary School on October 29 and November 5. Kim McLeod, former division music teacher from Russell, led K 3 and Grade 4 6 sessions, outlining objectives, terminology, resources, rhythm and ear training games, and cross curricular ideas. Attendees practiced with rhythm band instruments, heard about school tapes of songs, and learned choral terms, leaving the sessions informative and enjoyable.

The Rossburn Elementary School choir is formed as a school function coordinated by Joyce Leganchuk with Susan Armbruster on piano and Joyce Maxwell and Alice Hrubeniuk as directors. The Village of Rossburn council met November 12 with Mayor Morley Kostecky presiding. By Law No. 86-713 authorized land sale to Joseph Nychuk. Garbage pickup rotates to Mondays and Tuesdays for Antonin. Gerald Prosak hired for 1986-87 skating season. Ice rental: Minor Sports $450, Figure Skating Club $450, Rossburn Stingers $500, Broomball clubs $250-$300, tournaments $150/day, Broomball $75/day. Skating fees Public $15, Other $20, Combination $35, Family $60, Pre-School free, Daily $1.50. Ice rental rate $35/hour. Payments: General Fund $157,067.98, Utility Fund $6,859.42.

Russell school board approves trip and staff actions
The Pelly Trail School Division board approved in principle a proposed field trip to the Maritimes with a preference for a female parent supervisor. The board also authorized representatives to curriculum committees, approved t shirt purchases for basketball championships, and approved evening classes and facility use. Several personnel changes and resignations were noted, with committee appointments and officer elections held from November 4 onward.
