The annual meeting of the Chamber of Commerce will be held Thursday at 8 00 p m in Hall All town members are urged to attend in Rossburn.
The first reorganizational meeting of the 4H Beef and Dairy was held November 21 at the Elementary School. Officers elected were Foster Armstrong president Grant Armstrong vice president Janieth Johnston secretary Ross Taylor reporter. Next meeting is Thursday December 7 inviting new members.
The article compares proposed education grant systems. In a single district division the province covers two thirds of education costs and salaries grants 100 percent up to scales, with maintenance and administration capped. taxes rise slowly. In multi district divisions local taxes absorb all increases, raising taxes more quickly.
The Administrative Committee of the Rossburn Medical Nursing Unit reports a $6000 overrun on the Hospital project once tenders were opened. Government grants cover $4200 of the excess. the Board covers the remaining $1800. Acknowledgment credits student donors and a May 31, 1968 completion date.
Coming events list a Jackpot Bingo at Rossburn Town Hall Basement on Wednesday November 29 at 8:00 p.m. with 12 games at 4 dollars and 2 games at 15 dollars plus a 25 dollar surprise pack, 170 dollar jackpot and 75 cent lap cards. The Vista U C W annual Bazaar and Tea will be held Saturday November 25 from 2 30 to 5 00 p.m. in the Rossburn United Church annex. Everybody welc
A surprise farewell party at Pastor Brian Linaker and his wife’s home honored their departure for Red Ontario. Attendees presented a purse of money and extended thanks. Linaker announced his farewell for November 26.
Members of the Rossburn Game and Fish Association may enter the deer head competition. Heads to the left with Otto Evers on the Monday after season close, with judging to follow.
The church group met November 14 with 14 members and 1 visitor. They approved buying hymn books and a push broom, then elected 1968 officers: President Mrs. Bertha Johnston and Vice President Mrs. Edna Adams. A concert was planned for a later date, possibly February.
