The Village of Rossburn council met November 20 in the council chambers with Mayor J G Stitt and Councillors Antoniw and Drosdoski present. Motions approved October financial and auditor reports, constable report, extended Christmas by law hours, Curling Club rent and terms, office rent to Civil Defence, arbitration for school district dissolution, water and sewage by law vote prep, and payment of bills totaling 1094.82. Adjournment set for December 18, 1962 at 8:00 p.m.

Rossburn 4H Sewing Sisters Meet Discuss Holidays
The Rossburn 4H Sewing Sisters held their second business meeting on November 7 at the school. They planned supper for the Annual Leaders' Convention and Banquet on November 27 and discussed a Christmas Concert and Rally. A Platter Party took place November 16 with slides shown by Mrs. J. G. Stitt.

Rossburn 4H Calf Club elects representative to Manitoba Exchange
The Rossburn 4H Calf Club met in the school auditorium on Tuesday November 20 with Janet Johnston chosen as club representative for the Manitoba Exchange tour. Secretary Treas Dwain Lawless read minutes and a follow up on entering a delegate list. The next meeting will be at H Huston’s on Saturday December 15 featuring judging competitions and urging full member attendance.

Vice-President of MFU Addresses Rossburn Meeting
Ronny Kostesky was elected President with Mike Gawryluk as Vice President. Also elected to the Board were Matt Glushka, Mike Levitsky, John York and Adolf Kostesky. Delegates to the Provincial Convention are Mike Gawryluk and Ronny Kostesky, Morris Danyleyko as alternate. Herb Andresen, Vice President, spoke on MFU accomplishments and services. A hog and cattle committee was formed and membership progress was reported. the canvassing committee noted gains over last year. The meeting urged farmer support for the union and closed with a unity message.

Cash Bingo Held at Elphinstone
Elphinstone Arena hosted a cash bingo on Thursday November 15 to raise funds for a new curling rink. Rossburn Lions Club Marks Second Anniversary
Sixty Lions, ladies, visitors and guests gathered at the Ukrainian National Home in Rossburn on Friday November 16 to celebrate the Lions Club of Rossburn’s second anniversary. The evening featured a welcome address by Past President Nick Karmaz enuk, a year-in-review report by Lion Harry Aylwin, a Lion’s Sing Song led by Harris Huston, and remarks from Erickson and Shoal Lake Lions clubs. Deputy District Governor Syd Waldron spoke as guest, five new members—Elwyn and Tony Luhowy—were inducted, attendance buttons were awarded, and a raffle followed by dancing closed the evening.

Edward Yozenko 32 died at Winnipeg General Hospital on Wednesday November 7. Born in Newdale he attended Mount Calm School and married Grace Billings in 1951. He worked with Winnipeg TransCanada Airlines ten years. Survived by wife Grace daughters Sharon and Shirley sons Kelly and Garry parents from Sandy Lake sisters and a brother. Funeral November 9 at Park Lawn Mortuary Brookside Cemetery.
