Bert Mitchell Elected Fair Board President

At the Rossburn Agricultural Society annual meeting on Friday November 17 officers were elected with Bert Mitchell chosen as president Joining Hon Stuart Garson MP Rod ney Clement MLA William Mitchell Sr and Alexander Sinclair as honorary presidents The meeting set dates for the forty second annual fair and sports on July 26 and discussed Bangs Disease vaccination funding For the Boy's Calf Club John Mitchell was elected President with about eighteen members and plans a December bonspiel inviting district clubs.

Red Cross Meeting Set for Rossburn Branch

The Rossburn branch of the Canadian Red Cross will meet at the Rossburn Town Hall on Wednesday November 29 at 8 30 p m. Branch secretary W A LeBlanc will attend and outline next year’s program and present a Red Cross film. The note stresses strong branches to support health and relief work amid unsettled international conditions.

Farewell party and gifts from Rossburn friends

We thank friends and neighbors for a farewell party and a purse of money at the Club Room on November 15 and for a wood blanket given November 11. The gifts are cherished as a remembrance from Lloyd Blanche and Judy Duncanson of Rossburn.

Double Wedding Vows In Manitoba Church Ceremonies

Two couples wed in Canadian ceremonies. Stella Mazur and Peter Sacnea exchanged vows at Lakedale Greek Catholic Church with family present, followed by a reception at the bride’s parents’ home. Anne Belinski and Charles Ernest Smith married at St. Stephen's Broadway United Church in Winnipeg with a supper at Moore's restaurant and plans to reside in Shilo and Winnipeg.

Legislature Adopts Bill After Out-of-Order Amendment

Former Rossburn Citizen Mary Wilcox Buried

Funeral services were held at 2 p m Thursday for Mary McKenzie Wilcox 29 of Franklin Manitoba who died Tuesday at the General Hospital Neepawa burial followed at Neepawa cemetery Mary born in Rossburn educated there she later worked in Winnipeg and Neepawa before marrying Earl Wilcox survivors include her father Donald McKenzie sister Viola of Winnipeg and brother Alister at Neepawa mother and two siblings preceded her.
