The Teachers' Society met at Rossburn School on October 29 with twenty three teachers attending. Obituary of Mrs Albert Woods at Shoal Lake church
Funeral services were held October 15 at Westminster Church in Shoal Lake for Mrs. Albert Woods who died after a lengthy illness in Brandon Assiniboine hospital. She was born in Muskoka Ontario and moved to the Rossburn area in 1908 later living in Vista and Shoal Lake. Surviving are six daughters and two sons, twenty four grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Six grandsons served as pallbearers with several named as honorary pallbearers.

The Annual Meeting and Banquet of Rossburn Pool Elevator was held at the Rossburn Town Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 5 with strong attendance. W. A. Mrs. V. Poloway thanked the ladies for supper. Harvey Scott, asst. gen. manager of Manitoba Pool Elevators, spoke on cooperative needs and four major problems: elevator wear, replacement costs, rising operations costs, and railroad branch-line abandonments. He noted production costs in farming and mentioned the Fertilizer Plant and Packing Plant. Bert Mitchell opened with a Directors' Report recounting the year, including a March fire and replacement by a modern elevator of about 90,000 bushels capacity. Total grain handled this year reached 261,000 bu, up from 155,000 bu last year. Lawrence Gurnick and Sammy Hrysak were sponsored to MFA Camp. Donald Stitt's rink won the local Pool Elevator cup for the Rossburn school curling championship, with Penny McKnight speaking for the rink. Death of Lestor Prosyk in Marco at 73
Lestor Prosyk 73 of Marco died Sunday at Rossburn hospital after a long illness. Born in Western Ukraine he came to Canada in 1897 settling in Marco district with his parents. He married Pearl Dutchak and is survived by wife, a daughter Tenny Dunits of Oakburn, three sons Bill Alex Lester of Fort William Ont. and Oakburn, ten grandchildren. Funeral services were held in Rossburn and Oakburn with interment at Peto’s Lake Cemetery. Raginski Funeral Home arranged.

Flying Farmers Convention At Saskatoon Crowned Queen
Alex and Elizabeth Cleland with Viola Stitt flew to Saskatoon Saskatchewan from Friday October 23 to Sunday for the Annual Flying Farmer Convention. About 65 aircraft from Canada and the U S landed as attendees discussed aerial spraying nearby towns and radio weather navigation. The banquet Saturday crowned K Carefoot Swift Current Sask as Flying Farmer Queen for 1963 64 with around 200 in attendance including international officers and queens from Iowa Alabama South Dakota Minnesota Montana Ontario Alberta and Manitoba.
