Vista 4 H Club held a prize-filled fair on Oct 16 with multiple winners across Swine Gill judging Seed and Woodwork. Kenneth Brown led in several events including Best Market Hog Best Groomed Pair of Pigs and Best Pair of Pigs. The Vista Seed Club also topped the District Seed Fair at Shoal Lake Oct 29 with 18 lb barley per member and a concluding film on soil erosion.

Princess Elizabeth Drives Royal Train in Alberta
Royal Train passengers on the westbound CN trans continental line saw Princess Elizabeth wave from the engineer’s platform while Prince Philip acted as fireman. The Princess took the controls for 20 minutes and drove the train from Yates to Peers, Alberta, covering 14.4 miles with a smooth start and stop.

Curling Club Meeting Sets Plans for Coming Season
Rossburn Curling Club met in the Curling Rink on Tuesday the 30th to discuss plans for the season. Robt Stitt was named to the Ice Committee with Robt Crookshanks and John Cormack as other members, while John Williamson was appointed drawmaster Lindsay's assistant. Fees stay at 10.00 per person with 1.00 extra for the rock fund. Vernon Hamilton hired as caretaker. The Ice Committee may improve water heating for flooding the ice and rinks will be structured as last year with skips choosing their own ladies if desired. A motion barred bonspiels until after the men's bonspiel.
