Rossburn Elementary Schoolyard Plan Seeks Adventure Playground
A group of Rossburn parents and teachers formed the R E S Schoolyard Planning Committee to improve the schoolyard for K to VIII students and the community. Past improvements include trees ball diamonds a sandbox and a botanical garden. The group aims to raise funds for an adventure playground a complex system of stations to develop motor skills through climbing swinging balancing and sliding. Members Lynda Ryshytylo Shirley Kalyniuk Marie Elke Larry Elke Yvonne Lillie Dennis Kaskiw John Calder and Jim Procyk invite community support with fund raising plans to be announced.

Rossburn Council Elects Incumbent and Four New Members
Voter turnout reached 70 percent of 540 eligible voters on October 26 as Ken Caldwell retained his council seat with 310 votes. Calvin Brown 276, Robert Hunter 221, Shirley Kalyniuk 216, and Ed Kreshewski 201 were elected. Mayor Louis Kurchaba was re elected unopposed. Reeve John Mitchell unopposed and several ward incumbents were returned.

Pelly Trail incumbents retain seats in two wards
In the Pelly Trail School Division elections on October 26, incumbents held their seats. In Ward 5 John Mazur defeated Nydia Kostuik 159 to 100 with 84 percent turnout of 310 eligible voters. In Ward 7 Leonard Goletz won 186 to 159 over Lynda Ryshytylo amid 69 percent turnout of 500 eligible voters. No nominations were received in Ward 9 Elphinstone.
