Oakburn bids farewell to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Whyman after forty five years in the community. A Ukrainian National Home gathering honored the couple with corsages, speeches by local officials, and a gift of furniture for their new Hamiota home.

Funeral Rites for Beatrice McLeod

Beatrice Helen McLeod aged 38 died after a lengthy illness at Shoal Lake Hospital on October 23. Funeral service held at Vista United Church conducted by Rev. Ferguson and Rev. Donavan with organist W. Cleland. interment in Argyle Cemetery. Pallbearers: Dick Baker, James Lillie, Geo. Wilson, Hugh Armstrong, Alister MacKinnon, Norman Locke. She is survived by her mother and father Mr and Mrs R D McLeod, a sister Maud Mrs J H Lavineway of Ninga, three brothers Robert of Winnipeg, Leonard and Murray at home. Ree's Funeral Home in charge.

William Campbell obituary from Rossburn and Onanole

William Campbell died October 22 1962 at the Geneva Hospital Calgary in his 70th year. Born May 16 1892 in Caithness Scotland he later farmed near Rossburn and served 23 years as park warden in Riding Mountain National Park. He leaves wife Isabella Calgary five sons and two daughters and twelve grandchildren. Funeral October 24 at Fosters Garden Chapel with Rev Donald Sjo berg and interment at Queen's Park Cemetery.

Officers Elected at Rossburn Calf Club Meeting

The Rossburn H Calf Club elected officers for the coming term led by president Janet Johnston and vice president Wayne Carson with Dwain Lawless as secretary treasurer. L. C. Johnston, H Huston, and D Andrew named as in year leaders and beef and dairy chiefs. Agricultural Representative Dixon chaired the session and signaled the next meeting for November 26 in the school.
