Second Annual Scout Camporee at Rossman Lake
The Rossburn Rover Venturer Co. hosted the May 18–21 1920 camporee at Rossman Lake Campsite nine miles northeast of Rossburn. About 275 Scouts Venturers rovers and supporters from multiple towns attended a weekend of canoeing archery knot tying swimming and a Sunday obstacle course and track events. Chief cooks D Schoonbaert and Jim Cottingham fed over sixty people three times daily. Camp Chiefs W E Stefanuk and R Plaisier welcomed units from many communities and Keith Jelinski Regina field executive attended. The event closed with prize presentations and a net profit of 85.42.

Two League Doubleheaders Angusville Cardinals Win 3 Of 4 Games
The Angusville Cardinals opened the season with a 15-12 win over Grandview Lakers as Bob Chuchmuch struck out nine. Grandview’s Gerry Asseltine earned a 15-6 victory in game two with Marion Kotelinski taking the loss. Stan Furman hit two Angusville homers. Ross Taylor homered three times for Grandview. May 27 saw Angusville sweep Spy Hill 9-2 behind Chuchmuch’s 12 strikeouts and a 12-0 shutout finale with Furman firing five scoreless innings. Robert Mazur went five for eight for Angusville and Corrie Chuchmuch also homered.

Oakburn Boy Scouts Invested After Years Gap
After a long absence the Oakburn Boy Scouts revived activity with a Wolf Cub Pack and a Boy Scout Troop sponsored by Oakburn Credit Union. On May 16 Scouter Rick Plaisier invested Peter Majko and eight Scouts, who soon attended the May 18–21 Rossman Lake Camporee earning an A ribbon for their first camping effort.

Manitobans will vote in the provincial general election on June 28. The 29th Manitoba Legislature was dissolved at 12:30 a.m. May 25 after Premier Ed Schreyer announced writs had been issued.

Hornets Annual Banquet in Rossburn Celebrates Season
The Rossburn Hornets Hockey Club held its annual banquet and dance at Rossburn Town Hall attended by about 90 fans, executives, and players. Awards were presented to Denis Martin, Denis Martin again (MVP), and Bill Antonow, with Lynn Beaton and Ed Williams noted for contributions. Rick Plaisier won two silver goblets as part of the celebration.
