Manitoba Legislature reports boost in cultural ads and job fund

The legislature scrutiny highlights a 25 percent rise to about $4 million in culture and recreation advertising under Kostyra as the Pawley government faces opposition. MPs decry the spend as political optics amid rising unemployment of 52,000 and 15 to 24 year olds at 18 percent. The House also considers a $1 million forgivable loan to Vicon to reopen Co-op Implements assets by 1989, with debates on pension reform for teachers and a tribute to D L Campbell, former Lakeside MLA.

Campbell hailed as last Liberal premier of Manitoba

Constituents are invited to contact the Legislature at 945-3948 or 1-800-282-8069 or weekends at 564-2367.
