Youth Job Centre opens in Russell for summer
The Manitoba Youth Job Centre serving Rossburn Russell Birtle and nearby areas opens for the summer season. Located at 219 Pelly Ave Russell the centre is co sponsored by the Russell Chamber of Commerce and the Manitoba Employment and Economic Security department. Manager Cindy Senek will provide job placement referrals and counselling and conduct employer visits to boost local youth employment. For inquiries call 773 3453. Royal visit set for July 22 in Winnipeg
Premier Howard Pawley announces that Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of York will visit Winnipeg on July 22. They will land at Canadian Forces Base Winnipeg around 1 p.m. and attend a welcome at the Legislative Building before heading to St Boniface General Hospital Research Centre to officially open it. The couple will depart Manitoba for Alberta around 5:30 p.m.
