Pelly Trail Board Accepts Resignations and Hires for 1987

The Pelly Trail School Board accepted resignations of Jim Procyk and Jim Moran and Lynn Boyce effective June 30 1987. Trustees present except three. The board approved the Rossburn Elementary Grade 8 trip to Winnipeg June 17–19 1987. Leigha Zimmerman permission to attend Russell Kindergarten classes. Ed Robidoux Jo ann Hamilton and Jack Huggins hired for 1987 fall term positions at Binscarth Jr High Elphinstone Elementary and Rossburn Collegiate respectively.

Terry Fox Run raises 3.8 million for cancer research in 1986

The 1986 Terry Fox Run collected about 3.8 million dollars for cancer research with participation by over 285 000 people from across Canada and 50 countries worldwide. National Run Director Paula Clark credits pledge inflows continuing as sites expanded from 760 to 2 039 since 1981.

Rossburn council names acting Secretary Treasurer and approves measures

A May 21 meeting presided by Reeve John Mitchell appointed Diane Lawless acting Secretary Treasurer with signing authority during the Secretary Treasurer’s sick leave.
