Pleasant conditions defined the first long weekend of summer with unusually good weather and a high of 77 on Monday. Readers across Canada enjoyed an extended holiday period in the fine spring climate.
Mr Stitt, Manitoba's representative, left Brandon last Tuesday to attend a postal conference in Saskatoon after attending a recent Manitoba Postal Conference in Brandon. Mrs Blaskiewicz returned home from Winnipeg after a three week hospital stay. Mr and Mrs Cliff Strong of Letellier visited relatives over the weekend. Lavern Clubley, Winnipeg, spent the weekend with his parents. Mr and Mrs C H Langridge spent the weekend in Winnipeg. Miss Lorraine Grenon spent the weekend at home in Mafeking.
Card thanks the ladies who arranged the shower and expresses gratitude for the lovely gifts received.
A family thanks friends relatives and children for gifts and letters to their little girl in the sanatorium. Special thanks go to Mr and Mrs Wally Perchaluk Jane's teacher Mrs Chopp and Mr and Mrs Peter Leschasin.
Names of Winnipeg and Manitoba residents visited relatives over the weekend, with many entries noting travels to Brandon, Brandon and Wawanesa, and Victoria Day gatherings. Highlights include the Sherritts’ 56th wedding anniversary on May 24 and numerous family visits to Alexander, Mitchell, Carson, Strank, Oryniak, and Karmaz enuk households.
