A letter from C. V. Hutton argues that widely spaced large elevators may force longer grain hauls, raise municipal road costs, and hinder farmers' control over grain grading and dockage. He questions competition, possible government grading, and the loss of farmer autonomy.
Eight communities and six rural municipalities join to create the Riding Mountain Mutual Fire Aid District. The province seeks full provincial coverage south of the 33rd parallel with districts prepared to place at least 100 trained firefighters and 10 machines within one hour. Gordon Seeley named area co ordinator. members include Dauphin Winnipegosis Ste Rose du Lac McCreary Gilbert Plains Grandview Ethelbert Roblin and the rural municipalities of Lawrence Ste Rose du Lac Gilbert Plains Shell River Shellmouth and Boulton.
The Saturday program at Rossburn Town Hall featured songs from Winnipeg Brandon Shoal Lake Binscarth and Russell senior groups. An afternoon dance followed with Brandon Golden Agers Orchestra providing the music and a lunch by the Rossburn Ladies Club.
