Lieutenant Governor Bud Jobin awarded Manitoba Provincial Awards to Boy Scouts on May 13. Among five Queen’s Venturer Awards, Rossburn Venturers took four for Don Heindle Leonard Kostesky Les Radford and Blaine Veitch. Past advisor Rick Plaister received praise for guiding the group. The program featured piano solos, vocal numbers, Mexican dance, Tap Dance by the Rossburn group, plus pieces by Rossburn United Church Choir and Rossburn Youth Group. First five mothers received corsages Mrs. W Shephard Mrs M Swintak Mrs K Oakley Mrs W Cleland and Mrs A Luhowy. Raffle winners included Audrey Aylwin ceramic vase Mrs Alice Prus ceramic candy dish and Mrs Mildred Gensorek ceramic cream and sugar set.
